Warren County Library participates in the Listen NJ program providing patrons with direct access to downloadable audiobooks through Overdrive. Download and listen to best selling and classic audio books 24/7 on your PC, laptop, PDA or MP3 player at home, in the office or anywhere in the world.

To access the Listen NJ Audiobooks collection, follow the instructions below.

Downloading Audiobooks from Listen NJ
(Windows Media Player is required to utilize this service. Download Windows Media Player now.)

1. Click on the Listen NJ icon on the Warrenlib.com web site.

2. Click on 'Login'.

3. You will then be prompted to choose your library. There is a drop down menu, choose ‘Warren County Library System’.

4. Type in your barcode in the box provided and click Login.

5. There is a search box on the top of the right hand column, which also has categories that can be browsed.

6. Find the item or items you wish to ‘check out’ and click add to cart. If the item you wish to listen to is currently checked out, then click ‘place a hold’. In the instance of holds, you will be prompted for your email address so they can notify you when the item is available. (If you do an advanced search and choose ‘Blackstone Audio Inc.' as the publisher, the item will always be in because this publisher gives unlimited licenses to the library.)

7. When you have all the items you want go to ‘My Cart’ and then ‘Proceed to Checkout’.

8. Then click ‘Confirm Checkout’. If this is your first time using this product you will now be prompted to download the Media Console needed to listen to your audiobooks. Just click the appropriate link and follow the prompts to download the software. After installing the Overdrive Media Console you may be prompted to upgrade your Windows media player, click OK and follow the prompts to do so.

9. When you have the Media Console running, you will have the opportunity to listen to a Welcome monolog, which may help you use the software.

10. You are now able to download your audiobooks from the Listen NJ web site. (If you cannot download due to security settings inherent with Internet Explorer 7.0, then try using Mozilla Firefox web browser at http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/).

11. When you click to download the audiobook, you will be prompted to open it with the Media Console. Do this. Then you will be able to download the book in parts so that you can download the first part and start listening to it without having to wait for the whole book to download.

12. Once you have downloaded the book or parts of it, you can use the Media Console to burn CDs or download the file to an MP3 player.
