The Friends of the Warren County Library System has been an important part of the library family since 1980. The group became incorporated in 1981 as a non-profit corporation organized under the provisions of Title 15 of the New Jersey Statutes.

Article II of the Friends by-laws states:

Section 1. The purpose of this organization shall be:

a. To make the public more aware of the Warren County Library's services and resources.
b. To broaden adult and children's activities in various forms.
c. To arouse interest in the community concerning the Library.
d. To encourage and be the recipients of bequests, endowments and gifts in general.

In the fall of 1991, Freeholder, Ann M. Stone signed a Proclamation stating:

The Board of Chosen Freeholders, Warren County, State of New Jersey, does hereby proclaim October 26, 1991 as Friends of the Warren County Library Day in recognition and appreciation of their efforts on behalf of the Warren County Library.

The Friends were reorganized in February of 2000 with each branch and the Headquarters building having it's own group. Working independently with programming, crafts, fund raising, and long range goals for each building; the Friends work together as a whole for the success of the Warren County Library System.

The Friends meet on the second Tuesday. 6:30 p.m. in the months of January, March, May and August.

They host a craft event on the first Saturday in the months of February, April, and June. This is a drop in event between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.

Membership forms are available at the circulation desk; there are no dues at this time.

All Volunteers and Friends are invited to our Holiday Social in December and for an evening of Volunteer Recognition during National Volunteer week in April.
