The Friends of Warren County Library originated in 1981. It is a non-profit volunteer organization that operates to raise funds for the Warren County Library. In addition, Friends run events that have the purposes of raising public awareness of the library, getting the community involved with the library, and supplying the library with needed materials. Some past fundraisers held by the Friends include the Christmas Cactus sale, the library bag sale, a concert at the Four Sisters Winery, and book sales. With these fundraisers the Friends started the music CD collection, hosted programs for the Summer Reading Program, and continue to supply the library with needed materials such as fiction books, audio and video tapes, CDs and children's programs. The Friends are always looking for new and eager volunteers. Any age and any experience are welcome, as long as you are willing to donate time, advice, and yes, money! You could be helpful on any one of the following committees, which the Friends would like to form: membership, programming, art display, social, newsletter, book sales, library volunteer, publicity, fund raising, book discussion groups, and special projects. A single Friends membership is free, but there are several membership levels:
We welcome additional donations above the membership amount. Mail to:
Meeting Dates & Minutes of Meetings Meetings are held at 7:30pm in the Downstairs Meeting Room.
