Franklin Branch History
The Franklin Branch of the Warren County Library System opened in the fall of 1989 in the Warren county Vo-Tech School. It was the first of the three Warren County branch libraries and is unique in its partnership between the County Library and the Vo-Tech. The Franklin Branch is a tremendous resource for the students and teachers of the tech school and the nearby community college. Working with the school and offering access to information for the students is very important to us, but the main focus of the Franklin Branch is to provide public library services to the growing population of Warren County. Over the years, the library staff has expanded from two to fourteen to better serve our patrons. We offer many specialty programs of interest during the year as well as book discussion groups and story times for children. We also run an exciting summer reading program for children and teens. The library collection has also grown over the years and now includes downloadable books, digital audio books and books on CD, music CD's, DVD's and video games as well as the traditional print books and magazines. Our web site offers a multitude of databases for research and includes information about the county library, the branches and all the programming available at our four locations in the county. In 2009, the Franklin Branch will be celebrating 20 years of serving the public. We are a dynamic library and we will continue to grow and to evolve to meet the ever changing needs of the people of Warren County.
