The core collection of NetLibrary eAudiobooks includes a growing collection of more than 500 titles, with works from notable authors who regularly appear among the top 15 works on the New York Times’ Hardcover Best Seller List, such as Dan Brown, Patricia Cornwell, Alexander McCall Smith, Carl Hiaasen, Elizabeth Peters, Nevada Barr, Pat Conroy and more. Additional titles are added to this core collection monthly.
To access the eAudiobooks collection, follow the instructions below.
Downloading eAudiobooks from NetLibrary
(Windows Media Player is required to utilize this service. Download Windows Media Player now.)
- Go to the Warren County Library web site at www.warrenlib.com.
- Click on the Databases & eAudiobooks link, and then 'Click here to login from HOME'.
- Type in the barcode from the back of your library card. Then click 'Log In.'
- Click the link for NetLibrary in the top left-hand corner. A new window will open
- If this is the first time you are doing this, you must create a free account by clicking ‘Create a Free Account’ in the upper right-hand corner of the page.
- Fill in the appropriate information and click ‘Create Account’.
- This will automatically log you in as well.
- If you already have an account, click ‘Log In’ in the upper left-hand corner. Enter your Username and Password and click 'Log In.' You will see Welcome, [your Username] in the upper left-hand corner of the web page once you are logged in.
- The Basic Search screen appears. You can search by Full-Text, Keyword, Title, Author, or Subject. For more search options, click on Advanced Search. On the right-hand side of the screen, you also have the option to browse by subject.
- Find the item you wish to check out.
- At this point click ‘Download this eAudiobook’.
- You can download an item in either CD Quality (a much larger file) or Radio Quality (much shorter download time). Keep in mind that once you download the item if you wish to listen to it from your computer alone, the Radio Quality should be sufficient. If you intend to download the file onto an MP3 player, you must download the CD Quality version. Also if you have previously downloaded a file and still have it on your computer, then you can checkout only the license again, which will be a very short download.
- Choose which download option you want and click on it. (Please note: The newest version of Internet Explorer may not download the file immediately. Instead an information bar will pop up underneath the address bar near the top of the screen. Click on this bar. Then click 'Download File...')
- Now you will be prompted to Open, Save or Cancel. Click 'Save' and the download will commence. Be sure to remember the folder and name under which you saved it.
- Once the download is finished, click on 'Close.'
- If you are finished downloading files, click on 'Log Out' in the upper left-hand corner and close out of the NetLibrary web site.
- Open Windows Media Player.
- Click 'File' and 'Open.' Find the file you downloaded and double click on it. The eAudiobook should start to play.
- Stop the file and while it is still highlighted click Tools on the drop-down bar and then click 'License Management.' Click 'Restore Now'… Click 'Yes' and then click 'OK' once the process is finished.
- Your file is now able to be downloaded to a MP3 player.
- If you are not finished with the file in the 21 days you borrow it, you can return to the NetLibrary web site, log into your account, find the item, and click 'Checkout (No Download. Only license to play file)' to renew it for another 21 days.
